Azariah Comstock

 

also spelled Cumstock

 
 

Azaraiah Comstock was born about 1714 in Rhoade Island.

Azariah was a blacksmith.

He married Zerviah Sprague on April 20, 1735 in Smithfield by Thomas Sayles.

Jemima Comstock (1735, married Nathan Staples)
Moses Comstock 1737, probably married Bethia DuBois),
Lydia Comstock (1744),
Aaron Comstock (1745),
Abner Comstock (1747),
Amie Comstock (1749, married Dan Whipple)
Azariah Comstock, Jr . (1753),
Mary Comstock (1751, married Rufus Whipple).

About 1765 they moved to to Richmond, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.

On September 19, 1777, Azariah, Jr. died at the Battle of Bemis Heights (Saratoga) and is buried there in an unmarked grave

Azariah Sr. died in 1791, intestate, Rufus Whipple was the administrator of the estate.
