John Lapointe

A John LaPointe was a private in the Dundas Militia during War of 1812, as was Lebeus Wickware/Wickwire. John appeared as a private on the 1812-1815 paylist for Dundas County.

The name Lapointe is a dit name. It could have been a nickname for a soldier (the point of a lance) or for a family who lived on a point of land.
