Butter Scotch Cookies


ice box


2 cup brown sugar
1 scant cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup flaked walnuts
1 tea spoon soda
1 tea s. cream tarter
2 tea spoon vanilla
3 1/2 cup flour

Make in roll fold in cloth & put in ice box one or more day.

Aunt Pit wasn't big on the details. If she missed a few, here are basic directions for cookies.

Heat oven to 375
Cream butter and sugar.
Add the eggs, milk and vanilla; mix well.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt;
gradually add to creamed mixture.
Put slices or rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
