Lemon Pie


from Laura


yolks of 4 eggs beat very stiff
add 3/4 cup sugar
then add juice of one or 1 1/2 lemon
cook in double boiler til quite stiff
take off fire and
add the whites of 2 eggs beaten stiff.
Use other two whites and 1/2 cup sugar for merange (sic).


A double boiler is a saucepan with a shallow pan that fits inside. The bottom pan is filled with water. Delicate ingredients are cooked in the top pan.
