Daniel Plumly was born about 1787 in North Carolina.

William Harrison Plumly (1816, married Elizabeth Emaline Humphreys, daughter of Moses Humphreys).

In 1812 he was in Sullivan County, Tennessee.

At the time of the1840 census, Daniel was in Monroe County, Tennessee. The household included

a man and a woman between 50 and 59
a woman between 20 and 29

In 1852 his still was mentioned in a deed.

Nathaniel T. Humphreys to Strutton and Asa Anderson.
Right to cut a road and erect mill. Dam on SW corner of farm where Humphreys lives on double branch and near where Daniel Plumlee [Plymly] had a still house.
