Jacob Hicks

  also spelled Hix  
 

Jacob Hicks was born about 1760. He was the son of William Hicks and Flora Cole.

Edward Hicks (1797, married Orra Boring/Boren the widow of William Hart),
Reuben Hicks (1800, married Mary Mottern),
Nancy Hicks, and
Susannah Hicks (1805, married Jesse Cross).

At the time of the 1830 census, Jacob was in Sullivan County, Tennessee. The household consisted of

A man and a woman between 60 & 69- Jacob and wife.
A man and a woman beween 20 & 29

an enslaved boy and girl under 10
an enslaved boy and girl between 10 & 23
an enslaved man and woman between 24 & 35
an enslaved man between 55 & 99
an enslaved man over 100
