John Beard was born about 1653 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. His parents were Richard Beard and Rachel Robbins.

When his father died about 1681, John and his brother, Richard, inherited the home plantation and all the lands except those left to his daughters.

He died on May 2, 1679 when he was 26 years old..

All Hallows or South River Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland was created in 1672.
